My name is Seth and I'm a 21 year old kinky, stoner queer. I don't care what's in your pants, as long as I can have fun with it. I find myself attracted to people with stories and hurts. Asymmetry and destruction are the most beautiful things. I'm AFAB, but I identify as male, and prefer male pronouns. I'm poly; my partner Kitt and I have a wonderful boyfriend (and Master), Jake. We also have the best roommates and Smooches ever, Dani and Lindsay.
people knowing that i’ve cried and people seeing me cry are two different things like i don’t care if people know i’ve cried because like everybody cries but when it comes to people actually being there and seeing me cry in the moment??? no. nope. nah. no thanks. i’m good. no thank you. let’s not
CrotchetyBooks is back in business! I’m really sorry I’ve been missing in action these past several weeks. To make up for it I have a whole series to recommend!
This would be the Night Watch Series by Sergei Lukyanenko. Currently this includes Night Watch, Day Watch, Twilight Watch and Last Watch. However, he will be releasing another book within the next half year at most.
This series predominantly follows Anton Gorodetsky, a member of an organization known as the Night Watch, which monitors the activity of Dark Others. The Night Watch is often in conflict with the Day Watch, who monitor the activities of the Light Others. These organizations are designed to maintain a balance between Light and Dark, however each side is hoping that humanity will tip either toward the selflessness of the Light Ones or the selfishness of the Dark Ones.
These books are some of the most beautifully crafted novels I have ever read. The fantasy world that Sergei Lukyanenko draws the reader into is unlike anything else, and filled with such a deep and surreal beauty. The books consistently throw into question our own concepts of morality as well as Light and Darkness.
In addition, the protagonist is set apart from many others simply because he is not especially powerful or high ranking. Instead he is a another piece in a chess game who is trying to understand his place and fight for what he truly cares about.
Sorry I’ve been so long between post guys, but I am doing my best to revive crotchetybooks! Please spread the word, send in your book recommendations and, by all means, GET CROTCHETY!
A quick PSA, because working in a New Age store I realize a lot of people don’t know this. Keep in mind this is the simple version.
The fella on the left-hand side, that’s Gautama Buddha, the Buddha, the central figure in Buddhism. Note that he is not considered a god, but a teacher and spiritual leader, the first to attain Enlightenment in his era. Note also how thin he is. This is because the Buddha fasted a lot. He was born Siddhartha Gautama. Buddha is a title, and not actually his name.
The fella on the right-hand side is not Buddha. This is a common misconception in the West. That is Hotai (or Budai or Hotei depending on the language), a Buddhist monk from China and folkloric hero. Hotai is thought by many to be a Buddha, but he is not the Buddha. Unlike Buddha, Hotai actually is revered as a god in Chinese folklore, although not in Buddhist practice.
This post is based on things I’ve been taught by my Buddhist coworker but if I forgot or mixed up something important and you are Buddhist and you notice, please let me know.
This has been an informational post. Have a nice day.
